FunPause Releases the Soundtrack from Fairies
December 1, 2005, Montpellier, France - Montpellier-based independent game company, FunPause Games, has announced the release of the music soundtrack from their recent popular puzzle game, "Fairies."
Due to a huge volume of inquiries regarding the soundtrack to Fairies, FunPause Games is offering the music of Fairies as a "download only" mp3 version, which can be purchased online for $6.95.
Like the game, Fairies, the soundtrack takes a mythical landscape of forests and elfin lore and transforms it to a musical cornucopia of rich, ambient themes perfectly complementing the game. However, as music alone, the soundtrack strongly hold its weight on its own. The soundtrack was composed by Jean-Marc Lederman, from the band, "the Weathermen" who also composed the soundtrack for FunPause's other popular game, "Atlantis." The lyrics were penned by Julianne Regan, from the band, "All about Eve," who also provided the vocals on the Fairies soundtrack.
The Fairies compilation is 20 minutes in length totaling a set of seven tracks, five of which are themes from the game, and two tracks are previously unreleased: one being a completely original track exclusively composed for the Fairies soundtrack and the final track is a piece called, "Chances" created for the newly formed band, "Jules & Jim" that Julianne Regan, the vocalist/lyricist founded with the composer Jean-Marc Lederman.
The tracks are as follows:
01 - Fairies - Main Theme 02 - The Castle 03 - The Forrest 04 - Time 05 - The Plains 06 - Zen 07 - Chances (Emo Remix) previously unreleased Jules & Jim Track
Sound quality of the tracks are set at a superior level, and with the mp3 format, a user can play the music on a computer (PC or Mac), or an mp3 player such as in iPod, and has the right to burn it on a CD. Also to note is that the download does not contain any Digital Rights Management (DRM) software.
There is a version to "try before you buy" on the Fun Pause website that is an mp3 set at a lower quality. This version is a teaser and opportunity to sample the music before purchasing.
