Kyodai is one of the best looking (and sounding) mah-jongg games we've
seen. The pieces, backgrounds, and music have an oriental flavor and are
all very well done. Two editions are included here: one that supports 3D
play using OpenGL, and another that lets you play in 3D with DirectX. As in
all mah-jongg games, the objective is to empty a board by removing pairs of
matching tiles. Choose from one- or two-player modes. Or, try the Rivers,
Clicks, Memory, Slider, or Hashira variations, many with a choice of skill
levels. Kyodai offers a multitude of appearance and behavior options.
Select from dozens of different layouts or create your own with the
program's built-in layout editor. The game comes with a generous assortment
of tile sets, backgrounds, and soundtrack choices. When you get stumped, a
Shuffle button rearranges the tiles to give you a fresh perspective. If you
get really stuck, click the Hint button."
